ITINERARY
Day 1 – Welcome to the West Coast
A friendly guide welcomes your family to Vancouver as you begin your Whistler ski adventure. After being shown to your motor-coach, begin your scenic transfer along the famous Sea to Sky highway. Watch for wildlife and waterfalls along the way!
You arrive in Whistler and instantly see why it is named among the world’s best ski resorts. With its twin peaks and unbeatable terrain, Whistler and its many fun activities are yours to discover over the next few days.
Check in at your choice of Whistler’s best family hotels all offering comfortable rooms and friendly service. Central locations mean that your family will be within walking distance of the gondolas and the lively Whistler Village.
By providing your details and standard of skiing we can have your family’s skis ready at Summit Rental for your arrival. Complimentary slope side storage allows you to rest easy during your afternoon snack or hot chocolate.
Day 2 – Lessons/Ski Whistler
This morning the youngest of your crew are off to ski lessons! Today is the first day of their five day Adventure Camp. Whether your kids are beginners or advanced skiers, a Whistler Ski professional can help teach the basics or break some developing bad habits. This is a great opportunity for your kids to learn some valuable skills and make new friends! Lunch is included each day.
While your kids are learning from the best you get to warm up on your own! Whistler Blackcomb features 8100 acres of skiing terrain, more than 200 trails, and access to 3 glaciers, 37 lifts, and 12 alpine bowls. This year Whistler Blackcomb welcomes the impressive addition of a peak to peak gondola. The widest and highest in the world, this gondola will ensure the best views and that you get to maximize your time on two of the best mountains in the world.
Meet tonight for a fireside dinner in Whistler Village.
Day 3 – Whistler & Tubing
After sharing all the fun stories from their first lesson, your kids are off for their second day of Adventure Camp. Lucky for you, it’s another day of exploring the hills on your own!
Family fun continues on into the evening tonight as the tube park becomes the place to be when the lifts close. No skill or equipment required tonight is your opportunity to let loose and cruise down Blackcomb on a tube! The Whistler Blackcomb tube park is the perfect place for the young and the young at heart.
Whistler village is full of fun family restaurants. Try a new one each night!
Day 4 – Whistler
Today is the third day of Adventure Camp. They’ll be racing you down the mountain in no time! Enjoy mountain hopping on your own between Whistler and Blackcomb. Today would be the perfect day to take advantage of the peak to peak gondola. For best viewing wait for one of the glass bottomed cabins; these silver cabins feature real glass in the windows and a fenced glass bottom for a one of a kind gondola experience.
OR choose to spend the entire day dogsledding! Let your team of canine friends lead you through towering old growth cedar forests and sparkling frozen rivers to Canadian Dogsled Adventure’s mountain igloo. Strap on your snow shoes for a invigorating hike to Alexander Falls, one of BC’s grandest waterfalls. Return to the igloo and let your dedicated team of dogs take you back through the Callaghan Valley.
Day 5 – Whistler & Zip Trekking
Today is day four of Adventure Camp and your kids cannot stop talking about how much fun they’re having. While they’re having fun at camp, you’re having a blast perfecting your own style carving down the hills!
You’ve flown down Whistler Mountain on skis; now try flying through the snow capped trees on North America’s number one zipline tour. Zip Trekking is a truly unique and exhilarating way to see Whistler. The Bear Tour is a combination of 5 thrilling zip lines! Zip Trekking is not only a one of a kind adventure but also a great way to learn more about Whistler. Your knowledgeable guides teach you about the surrounding ecosystem and what we can do to help preserve this fragile environment.
Day 6 – Whistler & Mediterranean Cuisine
Sadly, today is the final day of Adventure Camp. You’re kids will get to practice their new skills before showing you their moves tomorrow! Enjoy another day of skiing Whistler Blackcomb on your own. Or take this opportunity to wander through Whistler village, home of over 200 shops and stores ranging from art galleries to the latest in ski and snowboard gear.
Tonight you have reservations at the colourful Caramba! Restaurante. Warm Mediterranean food heats you from the inside after a cool day on the slopes. If it’s not too busy your kids can sit right up at the pizza chef’s counter and watch him throw the dough and expertly cook it in the wood burning oven. With a little practice, they may just become expert pizza chefs on their own!
Day 7 – Ski Together!
Today your kids get to show you their new found expertise! Spend the entire day skiing together as a family. Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains are not only famous for their snow but also for their wonderful mountain top restaurants. While out today, stop in at Crystal Hut’s cozy log cabin and enjoy a Belgian Waffle made right before your eyes!
One last family dinner in whistler village is the perfect close to a great vacation in Whistler. Treat yourselves to a hot chocolate with whipped cream and maybe a drop of Irish cream for those of age!
Day 8 – Depart with Fond Memories
Much too soon, you leave the clean air and spectacular sights of Whistler behind as your family ski vacation comes to an end. Wind down the sea to sky highway on your way to the airport for your flight home.
