Day 1 – Arrive in the Kootenay’s
Arrive in BC’s Kootenay region, the starting point for the best powder trips in the country. From here you travel south to Rossland, BC.
Rossland is a small town making a big impression on outdoor enthusiasts across the province and the country. With a continuously developing ski resort, Rossland is becoming a favourite local destination for some of the best skiing in the province.
Your comfortable Mountain Resort is the picture of rustic luxury. Cozy rooms and first class service is made rustic by the views of snow covered rolling hills.
Day 2 – Ski Red Mountain/Travel to White Grizzly
Red Mountain is not known by many but is growing in popularity each season. Escape the commercialized resorts and enjoy the raw nature of your sport. Red may be a small resort but it’s immense when it comes to terrain. Red boasts 2,919 vertical feet of tree skiing, easy to access backcountry on some of the best powder in the province, first-class lifts, and a Terrain Park that can compete with the best.
This afternoon the real adventure begins with your journey to White Grizzly. Settle into your room and meet the White Grizzly team, your hosts and guides for your two day stay. Get to know the other guests while enjoying a gourmet meal served “family style”. After some evening preparation you’re set to have a good night’s sleep – if your excitement will let you!
Day 3 & 4 – White Grizzly Cat Skiing
Wake early this morning to the smell of a hearty breakfast cooking in the kitchen. The sun is still rising as you leave the lodge to meet at staging area. Board your warm snowcat and journey from the valley floor to the mountain summit. If the clouds are low, be prepared to rise above them to the blue skies and sunshine of the high alpine regions.
Arrive at the alpine and it’s a full day of descending the mountain! The focus is steep terrain; you can expect to be flying down runs of 40 degrees! The Selkirk Mountains are renowned for their powder and this where you’ll be skiing. The exact mountain is unnamed – this is how you know you’re skiing some of the most elite snow in the country. With 11,000 skiable acres available, you’re in for an experience of a lifetime.
Return to the lodge and warm near the fire or indulge in an afternoon massage before dinner. Share stories of the best runs of the day while showing off your best photos of videos.
Day 5 – Depart with Fond Memories
Much too soon, you leave the clean air and spectacular sights of the Selkirk Mountains behind as your White Grizzly ski adventure comes to an end.
