has to offer.
Since 1926 Mt. Norquay has been the ski area for Banff locals. Just minutes from town, Norquay
has everything you need for a vacation of world-class skiing or riding options,
no matter what your ability.
Starting with the first ski runs cut in 1926, Mt. Norquay

ability. From gentle beginner runs that are fun and provide areas to build
confidence and skill to exhilarating double black diamond runs that will
challenge any expert. Not to mention Mt. Norquay also offers an outstanding
terrain park perfect for snowboarders looking to ride table tops or shoot the
half pipe.
Exhilarating Blacks and Double
Blacks
Mt.
Norquay's long-standing
reputation for challenge is based on the first runs you see upon approaching the
area, which is a quintet of super-steep, mogul-studded freefalls served by the
original Norquay double chair. For experienced skiers, there isn’t a more
challenging run that can match Upper Lone
Pine and the infamous Gun Run,
which are both dynamite black-diamonds that’ll give any professional a run for
the money. Perhaps no run at Mt.
Norquay can compare to the
sheer adrenaline-pumping thrills you get when skiing the Memorial Bowl. With an
average 34-degree pitch that rarely feels the blade of a snowcat, Memorial Bowl
boasts some of the fastest, steepest chutes known anywhere.
Leisurely Beginner and Blue Diamond
Runs
In addition to the black and double-black diamond runs, Mt.
Norquay
also offers a host of beginner and blue diamond runs perfect for beginners and
those looking for a leisurely day of peaceful, scenic skiing. Three more chairs
located right at the parks base serve as the lifts to the beginner &
intermediate runs where you’ll find friendly terrain. In addition to a small,
sheltered beginner slope—you'll also find the Cascade Quad chair that services
most of the beginner terrain and provides access to a number of other quad chair
lifts.
Cascade Lodge
If you feel like warming up in the lodge, Mt. Norquay’s
24,000 square foot Cascade Lodge is a beautiful two-storied timber frame cabin.
Picture windows over the entire front of the lodge provide breathtaking views of
the ski area and surrounding mountains from both the first and second floors.
