The Village of Mont-Tremblant, Quebec

Mont-Tremblant, Quebec

The current incarnation of Mont-Tremblant, Quebec is relatively young. The village was formed in 2000 by merging old Mont-Tremblant, Lac-Tremblant-Nord and Saint-Jovite. Today it serves as one of Quebec’s premier vacation destinations.

Mont-Tremblant is a relatively small village. It is home to less than 10,000 residents, most of whom speak French as their first language. The area is surrounded by the beautiful Laurentian Mountains and offers many breathtaking sights thanks to the surrounding forest and Lake Tremblant.

There is plenty to do year round in Mont-Tremblant. Summer in the village is essentially a continuous festival, featuring street performers, concert series, arts & crafts events, gondola rides and Guitar Hero competitions. Mid July brings the annual Tremblant International Blues Festival, a 10-day event that features performances from some of the world’s most renowned Blues entertainers like Buckwheat Zydeco and Jonas Tomalty.

Mont-Tremblant is home to two of Quebec’s top-rated golf courses. Le Diable and Le Géant offer great challenges for players of all skill levels. The greens and fairways are meticulously tended to, and visitors looking to hit the links are urged to sign up for tee times as soon as possible.

June, 2009 marks the opening of the Casino de Mont-Tremblant. Visitors can take a gondola ride any time of year to reach the casino and participate in high-class gaming challenges. Casino de Mont-Tremblant will feature 400 slot machines, five Texas Hold'em tables, 20 gaming tables, and a top-notch bar. This upscale establishment is bound to become a favorite destination for visitors.

Of course, the most notable attraction in Mont-Tremblant is its world-renowned powder skiing. Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort features 94 runs and 13 ski lifts. Tens of thousands of ski enthusiasts visit the resort each year to experience one of the best winter experiences in North America. There are plenty of trails available for people of every skill level, making Mont-Tremblant a great vacation destination for families.
